Izabel nodded, her green eyes transfixed on the scenery around her, mostly the valley. Her mouth parted into a slight smile as she nodded, "Yep. Told you it was," it was a distinct difference from the night earlier, whereas the snow was harshly coming down, and to now see the sun filtering throughout the trees, was amazing. "I'm not sure how I stumbled upon it, really. I was kind of distracted, but hey, good thing I did," it was as though civilization was further away than here, due to the beautiful nature surrounding them. She had almost never seen anything like it.

"Heh, yeah." L was still, perplexingly, dumbfounded by the sight for a few moments until he snapped out of the trance. "Hey," he said, "maybe... this can be our little hideout? You know, to get away from all of the troubles at the house; from the bullies and chaos." Truthfully, the beating that L received wasn't even that bad now- he hadn't even been scratched and he didn't shed a tear. The young boy almost felt proud for that.

Izabel nodded thoughtfully, still looking up at the blue sky as he spoke. "Yeah, that sound's good to me." After all, this area was peaceful; for not any other disturbing presence seemed to roam by its nearabouts. Izabel scanned the area with her bright green eyes, assessing what they could do here in the future. "We could probably spend hours here without anyone noticing. Not that'd it matter to them, anyways,"

"Yeah. Maybe we should explore it a little more?" L suggested. "We should get our bearings, know what we're up against when we go out here." Indeed, though L adored the new haven that Izabel had discovered for the two of them, they were in the wild and could be in danger of anything that deemed them prey. He squinted against the sun that shone against the water of the pond, blocking out the glare with his hand.

"Hmm, yeah, why not," she agreed, giving the area a quick look over before she began walking forwards through the nature, shoving any stray branches out of the way, whilst still being careful about L's statement; they were in the wild, after all. "Have you seen anything like it?" Generally, she was slightly used to the wild-aspect of the area, but it was still unfamiliar territory. Not only that, but it was rather calming, besides the atmosphere of it all being so; the sounds of wildlife itself.

"No, where I lived, we didn't have any woods," the boy responded, balancing his way down a tree root. He suddenly looked up at the sound of a rock tumbling down the path and saw an animal looking their way, one with tusks. It was a boar, and it didn't look happy, as they were territorial creatures. L jumped down from the tree root, slowly making his way towards Izabel. But, in a flash, the boar started to charge and L started to run back up the path with Izabel in tow. He looked back, but soon regretted it as he felt the hot, stinky breath of the beast at his heels.

She nodded thoughtfully, though the conversation was distrupted with the sudden presence of the boar. Having never seen one, Izabel paused at first, hesitantly, to look at the animal before the two were running back up the path. If only the animal weren't so territorial, they could have probably gotten past, or even left the woods in time without the boar charging at them. Soon, the woods began to clear little by little, until the familiar orphanage building and gate were coming back into view, and she were sure that the animal wasn't giving up.

Out of the heat of the moment, L suddenly grabbed Izabel by the waist, and ran towards the tall, iron fence. His arms and back muscles screamed in protest with their aches, but he ignored it. As soon as he had gained enough momentum and had gotten close enough to the fence, L used all of the force he had and threw the girl over the fence and into a large, fluffy pile of snow on the other side to break her fall. While the boar was catching up, L scrambled his way under the fence and through the gap on the other side just as the creature rammed its tusks against the metal, bellowing at the two children who were safe on the orphanage property. L's heart was racing and he was breathing hard, covered in cold, slick snow and tired as a log with his sore sides and arms. He quickly rose and helped Izabel up, "Sorry, it was the fastest choice."

Besides catching several gasps in her throat, she landed rather peacefully on the snow, though her green eyes were full of fright; an emotion she did not portray..often. But then again, she understood L's reasons, so shrugged it off and got up with his help. "Don't worry. It's fine, and thanks," If a boar were that hostile, she could only imagine a Vexes' level of hostility. "Anyways, though, are you alright?" Izabel was certain she was alright, only her heart pounding against her ribs was left of the sudden adrenaline.

L nodded, "Yeah, I'm fine. Let's go inside." He walked with Izabel, and checked once behind them to see if the swine was still in its same place- it was gone. Soon they had entered the orphanage again, momentarily seeing Watari entering his office. Then, a second later, the old man looked outside of the door, "Can you two see me in about... an hour? Take your time." With that, the caretaker had closed the door to his office again, leaving the two children to think about what he had said.

Izabel walked with him, entering the orphanage once again and soonly enough saw Watari enter his office, and then gave the two an odd statement; to see him in an hour. Sure, she could do that, but why? Curiously, her gaze flickered to L, giving him a sideways glance. "What do you think he wants to see us for, anyways?" She was mostly confused about the matter, though didn't know how L felt about it. "You think that it's important?"

"It's definitely important, and for what reason, I have no idea," he said plainly. The boy watched the door with interest, peering in from a distance through the frosted glass. He could see Watari's blob-form moving around on the inside, moving what looked like chairs and some things on his desk. From the looks of it, he was going to have a serious talk with the two children. Once a small moment passed, the old man came to the door and opened it, giving them the okay to come in. L was hesitant at first, but then walked through the doorway and sat down in the right hand-side chair. He peered over the desk to what Watari had been rearranging earlier- it was a couple of thin piles of paper, each with lines and some bubbles on them. So... it's a test? L had never seen a test before, as he had never been in school because of his young age, but knew what the standardized ones looked like from peering out the window at kids walking down the street in a desperate hurry to get to school.

After being gestured to come inside, the Caster did so, following after L to go inside and sit down at the other remaining seat. Izabel glanced over at what was on the man's desk, head tilted in curiosity at the papers. A test? According to what she saw, she concluded that this was some sort of test, though she wasn't sure what the test was on; or why they needed to do it. But without acting like she had already seen it, Izabel turned her gaze to Watari, "So, what did you bring us in for?"
