"Outside your realm, huh?" She said brusquely in her light Southern drawl, her golden eyes fixed on L. "Sure, your realm." Her voice was suddenly sarcastic, the same curtness still coating it. She had never heard of the species up until now; and she was heavily suspicious about that still. She wasn't an easy person to decieve, for she could have just been playing along this whole time, or maybe not. It was hard to tell; after all, she was good at playing along, if that were the case. Which it were; and it happened to be that she were playing along with his little 'species' parade over here. "A Shinigami, better than the Darkborns? I can see how that came to be, perhaps. Though there's nothing..per say, distinguishing you, from another species." Sarafine frowned. "Like, you know, from being a Mortal. Sure, blending in is great and all, but no distinguishing is going on." Sarafine turned her attention to the lineup for a moment, examining it and the people going in. It wasn't that long, she supposed, and there was no use to cheat to the front if it weren't even that long as it were earlier. "Come on," casually, the Caster hooked her arm through his, and so she walked to the back of the line (which was shortening overtime), unhooking one of the velvet ropes with her free hand so they could slip in line. "By the way, how come I've never heard of a Shinigami?" Why hadn't this species been mentioned to her yet, if it did exist? If he thought she were this easy to lie to; he was wrong, for she had experienced her fair share of training in this field, too. Turning her gaze to him, she narrowed her eyes, "Wait," she tensed, looking into his eyes as if searching for something, "Is this Shinigami species you're talking about its own sole species? Not a branch of Caster or Lilum?" Now, his answer would confirm any of her suspicions arising, and perhaps she would then stop with this guillable, naive lady trick she was suddenly pulling.

"That is because we have evolved to look more like humans so we can blend in better in the crowds of their stinky world," L countered, glancing at his arm awkwardly when she intertwined it with his for show. If I say no about it not being a branch off of a Castor or Lilum, then she'll know that I'm lying, and she obviously has a suspicion already. Though, it would explain why she hasn't heard of it before. If I say yes, then she'll question me about these Castors or Lilum and why I don't know about them when I know that we could be a branch off... "Yes," he decided, looking up as the purple velvet rope was unclipped and they walked inside.

Her eyes narrowed, but just before she could respond, her attention turned forwards once the doorman spoke, and they seemed to be in the front of the line after the long line-up had dwindled. "Caster in the dress," he pointed at Sarafine, "You're in." Untwining her arm from L's, she nodded at the doorman. As if she had never been interrogating L, she smiled and turned to look at him, tapping her finger against his chest. "See you inside." Or perhaps not, she thought, if you do decide to go find that Door on your own. Though, if he had enough sense to tell, behind her deeply sugarcoated voice, was a much more serious tone. Walking past the doorman, she stared at the brick wall in front of her. "Interesting trick." Sarafine glanced back at the doorman before stepping right through it. He was an Illusionist; and if you weren't smart enough to know it, then you definitely didn't belong in Suffer. Inisde the club, spotlights were suspended from the ceiling, tinting everything a deep shade of red. But without awaiting L to enter, she moved closer to the bar, leaning against the polished metal bar. He probably would make it in, if he were paying attention to Sarafine's reaction to the wall, though being a whole new species (especially in the Tunnels) was still mind numbing, so she decided not to think of it. The bartender reached over her shoulder, handing a couple Blood Incubuses glasses of the club's signature drink, O Positive. Besides, if L were a Mortal, those glasses would have been filled with his blood. Unless he were a good liar, for Mortals weren't welcome at Suffer unelss they were payment for one of the dozens of ilicits substances available in the Underground, the darkest part of the Caster world. Good thing he wasn't a Mortal.

The detective watched as Sarafine entered the club through a brick wall, once again reminding him of the British-made book series. He suddenly turned, noticing the doorman studying him, as if pondering to let him through. L was certain he was contemplating this: This guy... he's not dressed like everyone else, but he doesn't look like a typical mortal. Hm... As if on cue, the man let L pass, awaiting the final test of seeing if he knew about the illusion. Without a comment, L walked through the fake wall and into the club, which was quite nice looking through the red haze. He didn't see Sarafine right away, but soon caught sight of her at the bar. He crept up behind her and tapped her on the shoulder.

uhhhh times new roman I THINK. i dont even kno this one COMIC SANS courier new GEORGIA UH, IMPACT OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT I ACTUALLY FORGET AND DEFAULT - Whilst awaiting for L to enter, she didn't pay much attention to her surroundings, like seeing if he did end up entering Suffer. The only distraction was someone touched her shoulder, and she practically spun around, "What-" but before she could snap at the person, it happened to be him. Sarafine glared at L, examining his expression for a moment. "Huh, its you. You didn't scare me, though," she crossed her arms, "I just don't like people touching me. It's a hygiene thing." Good thing he weren't Mortal; she would have totally snapped at him. But now that he had entered Suffer, she did have the nerve to ask, "Also, have you even been to Suffer before? Played Liar's Trade?" He was a totally different species; not even a branch of Caster or Lilum, which was odd down here in the Tunnels. Like, really odd. She'd have to get some light shed on that later on; and especially about how he and his friends found out about the Tunnels.

"No, I said I've never been here before," L emphasized. "and no, but it sounds like a card game I may have played before..." He took a seat next to Sarafine at the bar, but decided not to order anything- he had no money. He briefly thought about Sarafine noticing the odd way he sits, but he didn't care much. He had a very good reason for it and he wasn't about to stop doing it because of one woman.

"Hey, just making sure, you know," the Cataclyst muttered, "I hadn't been to Suffer, either, until now. But it's better than Exile, if you've heard of it." Sarafine said, but upon hearing he might have played Liar's Trade, she wondered what they were trading when he played. It couldn't have been that bad, if he'd only played once; probably not a TFP call. "So, if you've never been in the Tunnels before, where are you from?" It wasn't likely that he happened to be from the small town that was Gatlin, since she would have known of him sooner or later than now, but it was always a possibility. "And how long've you been down here?" But all too soon, her voice trailed off, and she was distracted by the way he was sitting. "What do you think you're doing?!" She hissed under her breath, briefly scanning the Supernatural beings around them, as though she were worried about something.
