(( ooh i see )) Sarafine had finished; no longer consumed into her thoughts. Not completely, at least. She glanced around the room briefly with her cold glowing eyes, before deciding to get up and not even muster a word to anyone as she exited to go down the hallway. She had contemplated whether to stay for a bit longer, but found no point in it, and continued down the hall; not even looking back once. And so, Sarafine finally approached the door of her designated room, and opened it. She was somewhat tired, not awfully, but just a little at most. Sighing quietly, she reached down to lace one of her boots.

After dinner, Levi exited the cafeteria, much after the time that Sarafine had left. The melancholy feeling from the day before had returned, this time stronger and more present in his being. He trudged through the gray halls with his hands in his pockets while looking outside of the windows as he passed by. In the night, there was a raining torrent ravaging the hillside and everything inhabiting it, making the treetops sway and crackle with effort. A thick bolt of lightning appeared, then a crash of loud thunder, followed by even more thunder after that. With a sigh, Levi reached his destination- the library.
This was the place that Levi found all of his literature. there were some isles with bookshelves almost as tall as a small titan, and twice as dirty. But, in the midst of all of the dust was a piano, with stained glass framing its behind. The glass, although beautiful, was dark with the storm outside, and it was crying along with the captain's soul. Said captain made his way down the way to the instrument, and sat down on the bench, adjusting it to where his feet sat at the pedals. He opened the hatch, revealing the black and white keys of the piano. Lightly placing his fingers upon them, he started to play the first movement of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. It reflected his internal turmoil perfectly as he lightly swayed to the soft music.
Levi had known the piano his whole life; there was one in the middle of the town he lived in while with his mother, but had stopped playing when his uncle Kenny had retrieved him from his dead mother's beside, where she had been brutally murdered and himself left to wallow in her pool of blood. Once Kenny had left him, he had occasionally taken a seat at the bench, but was more busy with trying to survive on his own before meeting Isabel and Farlan. He had been quite good, and was still now; his fingers traveled up and down the keyboard, playing all the notes with stunning accuracy and emotion. It was as if the notes themselves were flying out of the instrument and throughout himself, making him determined to finish the piece.

She heard the storm, but was used to it, being a Cataclyst and all, she knew that world all too well; and found nothing frightening in it as some Mortals seemed to. She had gotten up from tying her boots already, but something else distinctive could have been heard past the storm's loud thunder and lightning. Her eyes narrowed, and she attempted to listen in more, but of course she had nothing like the hearing of a Incubus (or Succubus, respectively), so it was rather hard to hear. She did in fact like the weather at current, but something made her want to go explore for that noise.. it was faint and distant, of course, but she wasn't exactly sure what it was. Stopping at the entrance of her room, she turned her gaze to look down the hallway, as if that would unravel the mystery. Sarafine found herself pausing there for a moment before actually heading down the hallway quietly. She had passed up any opportunity to sleep well at all, because the thunder was familiar and comforting; therefore she enjoyed falling asleep at these times - unnaturally made storms, or not, all the same. After walking around the somewhat familiar halls and such, the sound was slowly becoming louder; bouncing off the walls pleasantly. Pausing to listen, Sarafine's glance shifted over to where a room happened to be, and the sound seemed to definitely be coming from there. Curiosity overwhelming her, Sarafine slowly inched towards the entrance but paused once she looked inside. It looked like a library, definitely, she could have recognized one anywhere - Mortal or not. Staying where she was, her eyes trailed around the room, searching for whoever was making that.. well, it wasn't even disruptive, but interesting music. Finally, she caught the figure of someone sitting at a piano. Narrowing her already glowing eyes, she noticed it was Levi - and somehow she didn't even sigh in disgust. She just stayed there, trying to be as unnoticeable as possible - of course, besides her Dark eyes - because it was somehow interesting. She knew Macon played the piano; or so from what she'd heard, more than seen.

Once the desolation of the first movement had finished, Levi moved onto the second movement of the Sonata; it was more lighthearted and playful, and it reminded him of a book that he had read once about palace. It was very short, though, like much happiness was. With the exit of the second movement and the start of the third, it was like a sword fight. The third movement was fast on Levi's rusty fingers, but was none such harder than the ones before it. The fast, moving notes bounced off of his digits with ease, like riding an old bike. As the bass notes fell like the fall of a heavy boot, he swelled the crescendos in each phrase, presenting Beethoven's piece like it was nothing, not hard at all.
The music spoke to him, urging him to play it even more powerfully, and not caring if anyone heard him play- he needed to vent his feelings, and through sound was the only way he knew how to do it at the moment. Trilling some treble notes at the top before swelling again, he pounded on the keys with fierce fire in his soul, releasing his soul into his work and showing how he truly felt. He could feel sweat trailing down his forehead as he closed his eyes and focused on every note, making it perfect. He felt like a choppy sea, and wanted peace in the unruly waters of emotion. He needed someone to calm his waves, something to soothe his currents. It was impossible, and the knot in his stomach became ever the more tighter. With hair sticking to his face and in his eyes, he changed keys briefly before returning to the original key for the finale. With his hands flying across the keyboard, the did a whole-step chromatic and with two long notes, resumed his sword fight with his mind. And with one more flick of his wrist, he had finished, releasing the last two quarter notes with aggressive finesse.
He lowered his hands and laid them on his lap as he sat back at the bench, staring at his hands. 'Still got it, he thought to himself, cursing his being for acting so carelessly- someone probably heard his playing, though he didn't think it bad. Not moving his head, but looking with his eyes, he glanced to the magnificent windows to his left; the storm was just as bad as it had been, and thunder had been booming lightly throughout his performance and lightning illuminating his silhouette, probably adding to the immense drama in his performance. Moving his eyes to his right side, he saw a small smudge looking from behind the corner. Without even needing confirmation to whom it was, Levi knew immediately it was Sarafine- the way she held her head, no doubt, and those glowing yellow eyes. The captain didn't utter a word, and only glared at the ground. He waited for her to say something, but she said nothing. With a soft voice, he muttered, "That was Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata." Usually he wasn't so soft spoken, but Levi couldn't help it; he was tired, tired physically and mentally.

Sarafine listened intently, still looking around the corner. The music had drained away the storm for awhile, each note prompting her to wonder how he began so good at playing the piano. Of course, she, herself, would never have taken up piano. She had no time for it, in honesty, unlike Macon whom kept to himself in Ravenwood Manor. She had stayed silent for awhile, unusually, for she was not even one to be that disruptive to anyone. Her eyes shifted from the windows, and back to Levi and the piano multiple times, like she couldn't keep her eyes locked on one thing at a time. Finally, the piece was coming to an end, and so it did. He hadn't seemed to have noticed her just yet; and for that was a good thing, she supposed. Until he glanced at the storm outside, she thought she could have possibly got away in time, but he had already probably seen her through the corner of his eye. She shifted her weight against the wall, slightly moving away from the door to get away, until she realized he had spoke. "That was.. surprisingly good." she murmured after a moment, smoothing her gown with her hands as if attempting to compose herself. A moment ago - Sarafine would have probably gotten away, but she had lost that opportunity the moment he turned to the windows. "Where did you learn to play?"

He scoffed lightly, almost surprised that she said something without mirth and a taunting tone. "My mother, she played. She was quite good..." he answered, his voice trailing off at the end of the thought. He briefly remembered when she took him to the only working instrument in the city, seeing that it wasn't in mint condition. Before playing it, he had tried to fix it, only resulting in more broken keys. Eventually he had fixed it, knowing the instrument inside and out, and had it playing beautifully. That was when he had truly started to learn.

She tilted her head, walking into the doorway instead of creeping behind the corner. "Your mother? Does she still play?" Sarafine asked; noticing that he used past terms. Sarafine turned her gaze around the library briefly, as if being reminded of something. She actually was reminded of Ravenwood - in particular, the piano finished it off nicely, even more so if there was a viola here. (( this took awhile sorry ))

He looked up at her questions and looked her dead in the eye, keeping his neutral look, though feeling terrible about it, "No. She was brutally murdered." He stood from the bench and stretched his fingers, as if he had had a long workout. He stuffed his thumbs in his pockets once more, and glanced up at her, noticing her lack of attention; probably observing the place from being transfixed by the music.
(its fine)

The storm continued; the thunder booming from the outside, leaving a gap of silence between the two. After a brief moment, she spoke again. "Oh, if thats the case, then I'm sorry to hear." She was not one to be surprised at this; or gasp aloud, for she had many dead family members, and even people she knew. "She must have been great. My half-brother plays the piano himself, or so I've heard." Sarafine smiled faintly, but genuinely; feeling sympathy for Levi, even if it was a rare emotion for her to feel.

Levi was again impressed by her ability to be kind; it almost made him laugh. Of course, he didn't show it, but only gazed back through his gray-blue orbs. He was glad she didn't over-react or anything to the mention of his mother's death- not that he expected to; Sarafine was the last person he would expect to make a scene about that sort of thing. He looked up when she mentioned that she said sorry had a half-brother who played and grunted in acknowledgement, "Yeah, Once he did look up, he noticed the vague smile upon her face and wasn't sure how to react. The only person that ever gave the stone-hearted captain a smile was Petra, whom Levi knew liked him. It was out of pity, obviously, but he had no need for pity. He didn't feel like ruining the moment; he was too tired and just wanted to sleep, whether he had dreams or not. With a sigh, he brushed past the woman with glowing eyes and started to walk towards the exit to the library.

She turned, gaze flickering from the windows to the exit a couple of times before actually walking towards the exit right after Levi had exited the library. Yawning, she continued on walking, keeping a rather fair amount of distance between the two in the hallway, as if there wasn't much to say to each other. Sarafine could still hear the storm - it didn't seem to be dying down, not even the slightest, so she supposed that was a nice thing. The otherworldly glow was still flickering and being projected from her cat-like eyes, continuing on creating the 'stay the hell away' vibe. Finally, nearing the rooms, she decided to prompt a short conversation. "Isn't the storm pleasant?"

While walking down the hall with Sarafine, the thunder outside rumbled again, creating an immense boom and making the windows shudder. He turned to the caster after her ice breaker and muttered, "Mhm." They walked up a flight of stairs and turned a right. The rain streaked upon the outside surface of the windows, creating blurry lines down the view of the grays and blacks; it was quite dark because of the clouds, and it was as black as midnight. It seemed to take a much longer time than usual to reach his cabin, Levi reasoned, because they were walking at a slow pace.
(sorry its so short, have to go home)

Sarafine continued on walking, not saying much after that, and instead listened to the storm outside. As usual, it was something that could either be immensely peaceful or dismaying - and as of currently, peaceful. Finally, they had reached the familiar hallway, and she slowly began to trail over to the room she was designated to reside at. Opening the doorknob, in another slow manner, she went inside without saying anything to Levi. She began to go over to the bed, - not bothering to even take her boots off - and sat down on it, looking at the window to watch the storm for a brief few minutes before actually deciding to fall asleep. And in another moment, the Caster's Dark eyes were closed.

Levi glanced slightly to the left to see Sarafine enter her room without a word and close the door softly behind her. He did the same when he entered his own room, and slumped down into his chair. He was comfortable; the soft velvet of the expensive chair cushioned his back and neck wonderfully. He was quickly starting to nod off as his exhausted body relaxed- he fell asleep.
(want them to have dreams? I have an idea or two for Levi's)

Sarafine had fallen asleep rather quickly, amidst of her attempt to watch the storm even while laying down on the bed. Though it wasn't often she had any dreams - nightmares or not - for quite some time, but she did have them before, and it used to be more often than now. She was greeted with the slightly familiar setting of the forest nearby Ravenwood; only her and Abraham there, though. Not that wretched Mortal, or the Light and Dark Caster girl, just them. But it was the same .. just, without them, for some particular reason. The dream version of herself tilted her head at him, the familiar flames shooting up towards the sky, encircling her. He was just .. watching. He didn't even lift a finger to intervene as the flames closed in - she was no idiot, and her powers were even more so backfiring. He let her die, she could tell that much. The last thing she could remember, was him saying, "Sometimes you have to do things yourself. She wasn't worth her weight in salt anymore, anyways." Suddenly her eyes shot open, breathing furiously heavy. She wasn't that expendable the whole time .. was she? Images flashed through her mind all at once, and she wiped away a stray bead of sweat on her forehead. It was just a dream .. A dream of something, perhaps, very familiar, but she shrugged it off and sat upright. Definitely not going back to sleep anytime soon, her eyes slowly shifted to the window, where the storm was before. (( sarafine doesn't normally have a lot of dreams, so this will be interesting. i was contemplating on a real nightmare but i cant think of anything she'd like .. be horrified of? so this happened ))
